At MadhuBoats, we have had the privilege of working with various government institutes on significant projects in and around the Rameswaram area. Here are some noteworthy collaborations
Sethu Samuthiram Project
From February 2010 to April 2011, we supplied boats, manpower, and vehicles on a contract basis to the National Institute of Oceanography for the survey of the Sethusamudram Project.
We also provided watchkeeping services for this project for a period of two years.
Marine Salvage Operations
During the Sethusamudram Project, the Dredger Aquarius encountered a challenging situation as it broke into two pieces and got stuck in the seabed. On behalf of DCI Dredge Aquarius and Mutual Protection & Indemnity Association - London, we successfully carried out underwater exothermic cutting (OXY-ARC Cutting) to dismantle the spud and safely drop it into the sea. This achievement is particularly remarkable as many multinational companies had attempted and failed to complete this task.
Environment Assessment Studies
We were contracted by the National Institute of Oceanography to provide boats and manpower for conducting surveys related to the Environmental Impact Assessment Studies. These studies focused on the sea route for the India-Sri Lanka Grid Interconnection Project, specifically for the laying of cables/overhead lines. This collaboration took place in the Palk Bay region.
Sampling Around Palk Bay
From 2017 to 2019, we supplied a mechanized fishing boat on a hiring basis to the National Institute of Oceanography for survey and sampling activities conducted in the coastal area of Palk Bay.
